[Prince Arutha]

I will be doing a few beer reviews and I suggest you should do the same. This weeks beer is "Piraat"








Appearance: Pours a clear golden color with a massive head; lots of splashy lace

Smell: Yeasty and hoppy aromas, with chalk, lemon pith and herbacious, floral bitterness; some alcohol on the nose

Taste: Yeasty, with tropical fruit undertones for just a split second, but the herbal bitterness, the pith and the alcohol overwhelm the palate from then on, leaving a very harsh aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderately high carbonation; rather boozy and warm after the swallow

Drinkability: More like a hoppy BSPA than a Belgian IPA, but I would not argue with the classification - this beer was just not to my liking as a several a night drinker. I didn't care for the boozy bitterness. I enjoy this as an afternoon snack, I could not however drink several in one night. But, still a favorite.

I should probably correct that....I like it as an afternoon snack. A Favorite to have ONE beer. But, I cant have 3 or 4 in an evening because of the bitterness.

I will correct. I should probably classify these in 2 categories.

I have beers that I enjoy 1 of and beers that I can drink all night....

You should make a visit to Montreal. Great micro-breweries here. I should send you some beers from here since I don't know if you'd get them in Arizona.

Hmm, I'll definitely not get them in Arizona.... I'm in alabama. If you were to send me some I would more than happily send you some local brews from around here.

D'oh! I'm mixing up my states. I'll look into this. I wonder how expensive it would be to send beer there.

I also wonder the legality of it..... sending alcohol from canada to america and visa versa? I wonder.... /me goes to google search.
